RACING FOR A PURPOSE!!!

A Mustang and little girl named Emilee have joined forces. Nine year old Emilee battles diabetes every day and she has since the age of 5 in 2010.   Her family has been great support to her. Emilee's dream is that someday there will be a cure for diabetes. Camp Hendon was created for children like Emilee to have a place to go each summer to interact with other children with diabetes. Please help them to raise money for Emilee and other diabetic children to attend Camp Hendon this year. All proceeds will be donated to pay for expenses associated with attending and running the summer camp.

Emilee now nine and her family have teamed up in support of a cure. Brenda and Swain Hurt are taking their 89 Mustang GT Hatchback and are now preparing it for Show and Bracket racing for the purpose of finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes and to bring awareness to the cause. The Hurt family funding themselves with no sponsors currently at this time. A feat anyone knows in the racing and show world that does not come cheap when converting a ride into a show or race car. The family in order to make this happen are making many sacrifices.

Currently the Hurt family are in the beginning stages of modifying this already astounding beauty into a beast with a mission. They have purchased a truck to pull a trailer and now are in search of the trailer. Also starting the process of preparing the Mustang for track time. The theme will be Emilee’s Race for a Cure, which will be the exterior graphic design of the car. The hope is to have the ride ready by 2015 to present on the show and bracket racing circuit.

Swain Hurt will be piloting the ride and Brenda will be acting as Crew Chief with their daughters Emilee and Hailee acting as the up and coming pit crew. All money raised or won through bracket races with go to the JDRF, “Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation”, in search of a cure for type one Diabetes.  A Facebook page has been created to accept donations.   Visit Facebook page “Emilee’s Hope for a Cure”  https://www.facebook.com/emileeshopeforacure

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! Thank You.
